Implementation Plan Overview
State
Approved WIA Implementation Plan
The
State of Arizona has approved a comprehensive plan for implementing
the Workforce Investment Act in Pima County.
This
plan features both the State and County Workforce Development
Missions and goals, local labor market analyses and forecasts,
and details regarding program delivery and objectives.
The local
Workforce Investment Board is required to implement the Workforce
Investment Act in accordance with this plan, and the details of
the implementation and its progress are reported to both the State
and Federal governments.
As the local
board began addressing the implementation of the WIA legislation,
it chose to develop a larger, overall Strategic Plan, one that
would encompass everything within the state approved plan, but
also provide additional direction, detail, and more accurately
refine the strategy, philosophy, and principles of the board.
